Vietnam Motorcycle Tours

Regulations differ by region: in Northern Vietnam, tourists are generally allowed to ride with an International Driving Permit (IDP) plus a valid home license, while in other areas a Vietnamese motorbike license may be required.

That said, after more than 10 years of running tours, our experience shows that police and local authorities are usually friendly with foreign riders. If you ride carefully, follow your guide, and hold a valid IDP, you will rarely face issues. The main concern is insurance—many companies will not cover accidents if you don’t have a Vietnamese motorbike license.

So, is an international license valid in Vietnam? Yes—but always check your insurance coverage before you ride.

In Vietnam, the largest insurers are Bao Viet (National Insurance Company) and Gras Savoye Willis (a French broker). However, they do not cover riders without a Vietnamese motorbike license. Obtaining or converting to a local license is complicated and time-consuming

All meals are included in the tour price, and we can accommodate vegetarians. Drinks are not included. Food is one of the highlights that keeps our guests coming back, we serve authentic, fresh Vietnamese dishes prepared in local styles.

From the famous pho, bun cha, and nem to countless regional specialties, every meal offers variety and flavor. Sometimes we stop at simple roadside restaurants, but the food is always fresh, plentiful, and unforgettable.

Here’s a sample packing list:

Riding gear: jacket, helmet, gloves, boots (rubber boots for the rainy season), balaclava, sunglasses/goggles, light jacket, extra jeans, bandanas.

Personal items: toiletries, sunscreen, emergency cash, earplugs.

Emergency items: first aid kit, medications, flashlight, chargers.

Miscellaneous: towels, zip-lock bags, bungee cords, camera, cargo net.

Unnecessary bags or suitcases can be safely stored at our office. For riders on the Ho Chi Minh Trail or those starting and ending in different locations, we can arrange luggage transport at a reasonable cost.

On our tours, you can choose between staying in hotels or homestays, depending on your preference 

Hotels: Since our adventures often lead to remote areas, hotels there are usually small but still equipped with essentials like comfortable beds, hot showers, and clean bathrooms. In larger cities, you’ll also find 3–4 star hotels available.

Homestays: Staying with local families offers a deeper cultural experience. All our selected homestays are licensed by local authorities, featuring traditional stilt houses, warm hospitality, and authentic home-cooked meals. You’ll have private sleeping mats, blankets, mosquito nets, fans, and clean bathrooms. A homestay stay also lets you enjoy stunning scenery and the peaceful rhythm of local life.

There’s no strict deadline to book, but availability can be limited as we are not a large company with unlimited bikes and guides. If all guides or motorbikes are taken, we must close bookings.

To secure your spot and ensure the best arrangements, we recommend booking as early as possible, most travelers book 3 – 6 months in advance.
