Our guides will pick you up at 8:00 AM, and we’ll meet at the Chi’sWheels Motorcycle Tour garage for a quick safety briefing to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey. By 9:00 AM, we’ll hit the road, weaving through the lively outskirts of Hanoi toward Nhat Tan Bridge, then follow the scenic Red River levees en route to Vinh Phuc Province. As with all our tours, we prioritize back roads and off-road routes, avoiding busy highways crowded with heavy trucks. This not only ensures a safer and more relaxing ride, but also allows you to immerse yourself in the peaceful charm and daily rhythms of rural life in the Red River Delta. During the 40 km ride along the levee, we’ll pass through countless small villages nestled among lush green paddies and gardens, where buffalo and cattle graze freely. Around 11:30 AM, we’ll stop for lunch in Doan Hung commune, then take a ferry across the Lo River. In the afternoon, the ride continues through picturesque tea hills tended by Hmong farmers and several peaceful Dzao villages. We’ll reach our cozy homestay near Thac Ba Lake around 4:30 PM, where a relaxing boat trip awaits. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner with your Dzao hosts, followed by singing, dancing, and a chance to try their unique musical instruments while sipping local rice wine — a truly authentic cultural experience. Summary We begin Day 2 with a short ride around the village to get a closer glimpse of local life and its peaceful morning rhythm. After crossing a wide stream, we head toward Yen The along Route 170. About 30 minutes into the journey, we reach Ô Đô Waterfall — a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Yen Bai Province. A quick coffee break awaits at Cam Nham junction before we continue riding along the tranquil Thac Ba Lake shoreline, soaking in its calm and scenic beauty. Soon, we’ll climb to the top of a picturesque mountain pass on Route 170, where panoramic views of the shimmering lake stretch out below us. The route then winds through lush palm forests and towering limestone formations as we make our way to Luc Yen — a charming gemstone town surrounded by marble and limestone mountains, the Chay River, and Thac Ba Lake. It’s the perfect spot for our lunch break amidst truly spectacular scenery. In the afternoon, we continue our adventure through Cao and Xuan Giang streets toward Vi Xuyên, then follow National Highway 2 for the final 60 km stretch to Ha Giang City. We’ll arrive around 5:30 PM, wrapping up an unforgettable second day filled with breathtaking landscapes and memorable moments — from the serene waters of Thác Bà Lake and the sparkling beauty of Luc Yen’s gemstone town to the majestic rice terraces of Ha Giang. Another amazing day on the road with Chi’sWheels Motorcycle Tour! Summary We start Day 3 with a hearty breakfast and a cup of coffee, gearing up for another thrilling day on the road. At 8:30 AM, we set off. Just 10 km from the resort, we arrive at a river fork — and here, two incredible routes await us: Option 1: Scenic Highway Adventure We ride along the smooth, winding National Highway 4C, a road so sinuous it looks like a giant snake gliding gracefully across layers of green hills. Our first stop is the welcoming gate to the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, where the real mountain adventure begins. We ascend a dramatic pass with challenging 15% slopes — an exhilarating climb that rewards us with stunning views at the top. To our left, a dense primary forest marks the Vietnam–China border; to our right stretches a vast valley of rice terraces and tiny wooden houses. After a short 10-minute break, we continue to the legendary Quan Ba Heaven Gate. Here, we can hike to the peak or enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the sweeping panoramic views. Our next stop is the enchanting Fairy Twin Mountains (Nui Doi Co Tien), one of Ha Giang’s most iconic landmarks. We then turn onto Provincial Road 181 to visit the Lung Tam Flax Weaving Village, home of the Hmong people. Immersing ourselves in their daily life and traditional flax weaving craft is a heartwarming experience. We ride through vast flax fields toward Yen Minh’s peak for a stunning viewpoint, before stopping for lunch in town at 12:30 PM. In the afternoon, we continue our journey on National Highway 4C, visiting the Hmong King’s Palace (Dinh Thu Vua Meo) and the iconic Lung Cu Flag Tower along the way. By 5:30 PM, we arrive at our hotel in Dong Van, wrapping up a day filled with culture, history, and spectacular scenery. Option 2: Extreme Off-road Challenge For the adventure seekers, this is an unforgettable ride. This off-road route through Ha Giang is rough, raw, and incredibly rewarding. We’ll tackle 155 km of earthen dirt road over 7 hours, weaving through remote areas where few tourists venture. It’s challenging, but every kilometer reveals the authentic heart of Ha Giang. We reach the hotel around 5:30 PM, tired but exhilarated — a perfect finish to a day of pure adventure. Summary Dong Van and Meo Vac are living testaments to both nature’s grandeur and the unshakable resilience of the local people. In this land of sharp limestone cliffs and sparse vegetation, even clean water is a precious luxury. After enjoying breakfast, we gear up for another thrilling day, immediately hitting the winding roads as we leave town. Our route takes us to Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the four greatest mountain passes in Northern Vietnam, perched at 1,200 meters above sea level. From here, the breathtaking panorama of the Nho Que River unfolds beneath us like a ribbon of jade. For those who love a touch of adventure, we offer an optional 3–5 km off-road ride to the mountain’s peak — a hidden vantage point where the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark reveals its full splendor in a sea of clouds. By 11:30 AM, we roll into Meo Vac for lunch, before setting out for the afternoon’s ride with two different experiences: Option 1: Relaxed Afternoon Ride For travelers who prefer an easy and scenic route, we’ll ride along National Highway 34 for about 90 km to Bao Lac, ending the day in comfort and leisure. Option 2: Off-road Adventure For thrill-seekers, this is where the real adventure begins. We’ll cross the Nho Que River on traditional bamboo rafts with our motorbikes, conquer challenging dirt trails, and pass through untouched landscapes. Along the way, we make a special stop at the legendary Khau Vai Love Market (Cho Tinh Khau Vai) — a one-of-a-kind cultural gem of the region. Although the distance is just 90 km, it takes us over 5 hours — a ride filled with excitement, culture, and unforgettable memories. As the sun sets, we arrive in Bao Lac, concluding the fourth day of our journey. Today has given us some of the most iconic sights of Ha Giang — from the majestic Ma Pi Leng Pass to the rugged stone plateau and the cultural heartbeat of the Khau Vai Love Market. This isn’t just a ride; it’s a story you’ll remember long after the engines cool. Summary: Pristine. Serene. Untamed. That’s how today’s ride can be described. Our Northeast Vietnam motorcycle adventure has been full of surprises so far — and this stage promises to be just as unforgettable. Today, our journey takes us to the breathtaking Ba Be National Park, following one of the most stunning routes carefully chosen for true riders at heart. We start by turning onto a narrow countryside road, a mix of concrete patches and rugged off-road tracks — a true taste of Northeast Vietnam. Over the next 40 km, the landscape comes alive: crystal-clear streams, remote villages, and stretches of lush primeval forest. Every turn brings a new postcard-perfect view as we get closer to Ba Be. Around midday, we stop for lunch at a small local eatery — nothing fancy, just simple and authentic, blending perfectly with the wild surroundings. This is real off-road travel, where nature takes center stage. After lunch, the ride continues toward Cho Ra Town, then into the heart of the national park. By around 4:00 PM, we arrive at Pac Ngoi Village, a beautiful community-based tourism village of the Tay ethnic people nestled on the lakeshore. From here, we hop on a boat to glide across Ba Be Lake, surrounded by emerald water, towering limestone cliffs, and dense forest. If the weather is kind, take a refreshing dip — just don’t forget your swimwear and towel! Summary: We start our final day with a warm farewell to our kind host family after enjoying a hearty, homemade breakfast. With spirits high and plenty of unforgettable memories already made, we get back on the bikes for the ride home. For the adventurous, there’s a 30 km off-road route leading to Chu Market — a rustic provincial road with fewer crowds and a taste of local life. However, for those who prefer a smoother and more relaxed ride, we skip this section to make sure we arrive in Hanoi before rush hour. After lunch, we continue along smaller national highways, soaking in the final glimpses of northern Vietnam’s countryside. By around 4:30 PM, we roll back into Hanoi, marking the end of our six-day Vietnam motorbike adventure — a journey filled with spectacular landscapes, authentic cultural encounters, and lifelong memories. In just six days, we’ve ridden through the raw beauty of Ha Giang, the majestic Thac Ba Lake, the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, and the tranquil Ba Be National Park — each destination leaving a lasting impression.
