At 8:00 a.m., our guides will pick you up and take you to Chi’s Wheels office, where we’ll meet the tour director for a short safety and trip briefing. By 9:00 a.m., we set off, weaving through the quiet outer suburbs of Hanoi toward Nhat Tan Bridge, before following the scenic Red River levees into Vinh Phuc Province. On our tours, we always prioritize backroads and off-road trails, steering clear of busy national highways filled with trucks, to keep the ride both safe and rewarding. This way, we can truly soak in the peaceful charm of the Red River Delta and its rustic everyday life. The 40 km levee ride takes us past endless green paddies, lush gardens, and small villages, where buffalo and cows roam freely. Around 11:30 a.m., we stop for lunch in Doan Hung commune, then cross the Lo River by ferry. The afternoon brings us through rolling tea hills tended by the Hmong people, and into villages of the Dzao ethnic minority. By 4:30 p.m., we arrive at our homestay near Thac Ba Lake. Here, we enjoy a peaceful boat ride before gathering for dinner with our Dzao hosts. The evening is spent in true local spirit—singing, dancing, playing traditional instruments, and sharing stories over cups of warm rice wine. Day 2 begins with a short ride around the village to glimpse the rhythm of daily life before crossing a wide stream and heading toward Yen The on Route 170. After about 30 minutes, we arrive at the picturesque O Do Waterfall in Yen Bai Province. A quick coffee break at Cam Nham fork recharges us before we continue along the scenic Thac Ba lakeside, eventually reaching the top of a pass that offers sweeping views of the lake from above. The ride then winds through palm forests and limestone peaks until we reach Luc Yen town, famed for its gemstones and surrounded by marble mountains, Thac Ba Lake, and the Chay River. Here, we pause for lunch before continuing in the afternoon from Cao and Xuan Giang street to Viet Quang town, then follow National Highway 2 for 60 km to Ha Giang City. By 5:30 p.m., we check into Truong Xuan Resort, wrapping up a day filled with excitement. From the sparkling waters of Thac Ba Lake to the rugged limestone ranges of Luc Yen and the endless rice terraces leading into Ha Giang, Day 2 is nothing short of spectacular—an unforgettable highlight with Chi’s Wheels Motorcycle Tour. After breakfast and coffee, we set off at 8:30 a.m. for another thrilling day on the road. Just 10 km from the resort, we reach a river fork where two incredible options await: Option 1 – Scenic Highway Ride Follow the well-paved National Highway 4C, winding like a giant serpent across rolling hills. The journey leads us to the gate of Dong Van Geological Park, before a challenging mountain pass with steep 15% slopes pushes both rider and bike to their limits. At the summit, untouched forests stretch along the Vietnam–China border on one side, while endless valleys of rice terraces and tiny wooden houses unfold on the other. From here, we continue to the iconic Quan Ba Sky Gate and Co Tien Twin Mountains, pausing for coffee or a short hike to fully embrace the scenery. Riding on to Lung Tam village, we witness the H’Mong people’s traditional flax weaving and pass vast flax fields en route to Yen Minh Peak, before stopping for lunch at 12:30 p.m. in Yen Minh town. In the afternoon, we continue on Highway 4C toward Dong Van, visiting the historic H’Mong King’s Palace and the proud Lung Cu Flagpole, finally arriving at our hotel around 5:30 p.m. Take on Ha Giang’s rugged side with an intense off-road route of earthen dirt trails. Covering 155 km in about 7 hours, this ride is tough but immensely rewarding, offering raw, unfiltered insight into the land and its people. It’s a test of skill, stamina, and spirit—yet one that guarantees excitement and unforgettable memories. We end the day at our hotel in Dong Van around 5:30 p.m., proud of having conquered one of Vietnam’s most demanding motorbike routes. Dong Van, Meo Vac is synonymous with nature’s greatness and locals’ tenacity despite their poverty and hardship. Even clean water is a luxury here in this land covered with sharp rocks and trees. We’ll start our day with breakfast as usual. We are on twisting and turning roads again right after we leave town! Reaching Ma Pi Leng, one of the four great passes of northern Vietnam, standing at 1200m above sea level, we enjoy the view overlooking the poetic Nho Que river. We also offer a 3-5km off-road ride which runs right to the mountain peak for an incredible view of the geological park amid the clouds. At 11.30, we reach Meo Vac and stop for lunch, then get back on the road, where we have two choices for tourists. Option 1 is for those who prefer a light riding afternoon. We ride from the National Highway 34 for 90 km to Bao Lac, where we end our 4th day with ease and comfort, or Option 2 with a dirt bike tour or off-road ride through wild and untamed nature, crossing the Nho Que river on bamboo rafts with our bikes, conquering extreme dirt roads, and stopping by at Khau Vai love market, a unique cultural feature of the land. This can be your most memorable ride on our Vietnam motorcycle tour. We only need to cover 90 km, but it takes us more than 5 hours. We end our 4th day safely at Bao Lac. We’ve seen so much of Ha Giang: Ma Pi Leng, the rocky plateau, and the Khau Vai love market. We hope you’ve gotten much more than fun on the road with us! Our Northeast Vietnam motorcycle journey has been full of wonder, and today’s ride to Ba Be National Park promises to be just as unforgettable. We’ve chosen one of the most impressive routes for our bikers. The day begins on a narrow road where concrete patches quickly give way to rugged off-road trails. Over 40 km, we cross streams, pass through remote villages, and ride under the canopy of ancient forests as Ba Be draws closer. Around midday, we stop for lunch at a simple local spot—perfectly matching the raw adventure of the day. In the afternoon, we continue to Cho Ra town, before arriving at Pac Ngoi Village of the Tay ethnic people, nestled deep in Ba Be National Park, by 4 p.m.. Here, a boat trip on Ba Be Lake awaits—and if the water isn’t too cold, perhaps even a refreshing swim. Just don’t forget your swimwear and towel! After a hearty breakfast, we bid farewell to our warm host family and set off on the final leg of our journey. Riders seeking adventure can tackle a 30 km off-road route to Chu Market, while those preferring an easier ride take the backroads to reach Hanoi before rush hour. After lunch, we continue along quieter national highways, arriving in Hanoi around 4:30 p.m. Thus ends our six-day Vietnam motorbike adventure, filled with unforgettable memories. In less than a week, we’ve discovered the soul of Northern Vietnam—from the majestic Thac Ba Lake to the magnificent Ma Pi Leng Pass and the serene beauty of Ba Be National Park. Truly a journey of landscapes, culture, and lasting impressions. END OF TOUR
